CHRISTOPHER RUCH
Board President Mountain Rescue Association • NACD Directorship Certified
AI & Technology Governance • Enterprise Transformation • Risk & Strategy Oversight
Christopher Ruch is a board president, technology executive, and entrepreneur who advises boards and management teams on AI adoption, technology investment, and enterprise transformation — three issues likely to determine whether mid-market and public companies create or destroy value over the next five years. He is NACD Directorship Certified, a graduate of NACD’s Technology & Innovation Oversight Master Class, and a graduate of NACD’s Effective AI Oversight for Directors program, developed with Carnegie Mellon University.
As founder and CEO of Agile Rising, Chris has advised the executives leading large-scale transformations at NASA, the FAA, the Department of Veterans Affairs, Emerson Electric, Moog, W.L. Gore, Federated Hermes, PNC, and United Technologies Corporation. His engagements typically arise at strategic inflection points — product strategy pivots, post-merger integration, enterprise technology investments, or operating-model change — giving him direct visibility into the governance issues facing boards in periods of disruption.
What distinguishes Chris in the boardroom is the advisor’s view of how AI and technology strategy actually translate into outcomes — and where they fail. He has personally led executive-level strategic planning and capital allocation workshops, coached senior leaders through transformation, and built a globally respected consulting team serving Fortune 500 companies and federal agencies. He is a frequent keynote speaker on AI governance, board oversight of innovation, and enterprise leadership.
Chris currently serves as President of the Board of the Mountain Rescue Association, the national governing body for emergency rescue services in the United States. Elected by the membership in 2026 after serving as Secretary and then Vice President, he leads a 13-member board, presides over its meetings and national conferences, and led the modernization of bylaws and governance structure for the 65-year-old organization. He has served on the board of Allegheny Mountain Rescue Group since 2007, including six years as its Board President, and remains Chief of its operational team.
He holds a Master of Information Systems Management from Carnegie Mellon University and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Pittsburgh.
